  • Databricks is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our G&A FP&A Team in our mission to help data teams solve the world's toughest problems. You will report to the Sr. Finance Manager, and will be a key finance partner to the G&A organizations.
  • You will serve as a trusted advisor to provide the financial insights, analysis, and guidance to optimize investment decisions and accelerate business growth. You will improve forecast reliability, enhance corporate reporting, partner with IT, People and Legal across different levels, and help the business to be successful and achieve its goals, grounded in financial reality and modeling, and analysis.

The impact you will have

  • Be the key Finance partner to IT, People and Legal leaders and their teams, including:
  • Partner with the business to drive forecast accuracy
  • Prepare and own budget vs. actual variance analysis and other relevant reporting
  • Build, maintain and improve detailed financial models that track and analyze functional costs and their impact cross-functionally and on the company’s overall performance, including but not limited to the Recruiting Capacity model and IT CAPEX forecast
  • Collaborate with the Accounting on accruals and other elements of the close process
  • Assist with and manage frequent ad hoc requests and strategic projects to support senior leaders in making informed business decisions
  • Participate in the company’s long-range strategic planning
  • Lead process and system improvement and scaling projects for your area to drive the company’s continued growth and scaling.
  • Partner with the business to drive forecast accuracy
  • Prepare and own budget vs. actual variance analysis and other relevant reporting
  • Build, maintain and improve detailed financial models that track and analyze functional costs and their impact cross-functionally and on the company’s overall performance, including but not limited to the Recruiting Capacity model and IT CAPEX forecast
  • Collaborate with the Accounting on accruals and other elements of the close process

What we look for

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a comparable quantitative field
  • 4+ years of FP&A, Strategic Finance, or related experience (e.g., Investment Banking, Management Consulting), with a focus on technology; familiarity with the software industry, SaaS business, or consumption-based models
  • Experience with supporting G&A functions is a plus
  • Experience in building financial models independently and preparing recommendations
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and experience with GAAP and non-GAAP financial metrics
  • High competency with systems such as Anaplan or Pigment, Workday, Netsuite, Salesforce, Coupa, and Zip
  • Prior experience using SQL or willingness to learn is a plus

The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents the expected salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks anticipates utilizing the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
