About the Internship

  • Okta’s 12-week internship program offers an inside look at how a world-class Business Development Team builds the foundation for growth. As a BDR Intern, you’ll dive into meaningful projects that allow you to experience the critical early stages of the sales cycle in a high-performance environment.
  • You’ll make a significant impact by providing a fresh perspective and real-time support for our Sales Development teams. During your internship, you will learn to master our "best-in-breed" tech stack to strategically identify and qualify revenue-generating opportunities. You’ll be responsible for the foundational research of prospective accounts and contacts using industry-leading technology, all with the dedicated support of a mentor and manager to help you develop new skills.
  • Our interns will also have the opportunity to build a strong community - with their fellow interns, within their teams, and with the broader company. We want you to grow professionally through participating in events like our Executive Speaker Series and networking opportunities with leadership.  And of course, we want you to have fun too!

What You’ll Get to Do

  • Pipeline Generation: Use social and professional networks, alongside cutting-edge tools, to identify and engage prospective customers at the start of their journey with Okta.
  • Strategic Research: Support account operations by brainstorming innovative strategies to break into new markets and "warm up" cold accounts.
  • Lead Qualification: Develop your professional communication skills by following up with and qualifying inbound interest to see if they are a fit for Okta's solutions.
  • Salesforce Accuracy: Maintain the integrity of our lead data and trackability of top-of-funnel metrics within Salesforce.
  • Internal Collaboration: Attend and document xDR enablement meetings and RVP forecast calls to see how early-stage leads impact the wider business.

Who We are Looking For

  • Academic Journey: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a graduation date between December 2026 and Summer 2027.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a developing ability to present ideas clearly to others.
  • Problem Solvers: A proactive learner with an eye for detail and an analytical approach to managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Professional Presence: Excellent phone etiquette and the confidence to engage with professional stakeholders.
  • Tech Passion: A genuine passion for building a career in sales within the SaaS and Cloud technology space.
  • Availability: Able to commit to a full-time 12-week internship (Summer 2026).
